The Gondola Getaway
Established in 1982, The Gondola Getaway brings old world charm and a thousand year old tradition to Southern California. Authentic Venetian gondolas gently cruise the enchanting canals and waterways of Naples Island near the resort area of Belmont Shore in Long Beach, CA.

Kayaks on the Water
Alamitos Bay is the most beautiful and user friendly marina in Southern California. It is commonly referred to as "The best kept secret between Los Angeles and Orange County."
The water is almost always flat and calm. The beaches are well supervised and there is very little boat traffic.

Long Beach Marine Stadium
One of the world's premier water skiing facilities. Sand beach, rest rooms, picnicking and ample parking. A great location to rent for a special event. Rates are available on request. The stadium was the site for the 1932 Olympic Rowing competition and the 1968 Olympic rowing trials. Marine Stadium was recently designated as an official state historic site.

Sailing & Windsurfing Lessons
The Leeway Sailing and Aquatics Center has had "the wind at it’s back" throughout its long history. Founded in 1929 to teach local youth the basics of sailing, the Leeway Sailing and Aquatics Center is regarded as one of the premier municipal instructional sailing programs in the country. The Center's mission is to provide a fun, safe aquatic experience, and to teach good sportsmanship and water safety. Along with quality sailing instruction, board sailing, kayaking, wind surfing and canoeing are also taught.

Long Beach Aquatic Capital of America Foundation
Founded in October 2008, the Long Beach Capital of America Foundation strives to communicate and promote Long Beach as an aquatic destination for business, education, and sports on a local, national, and international basis.
The Foundation’s strategic initiatives are to support aquatic events, clean water and water conservation efforts; and lead fundraising efforts to support local youth aquatics and “water proofing” Long Beach youth, refurbish and improve local facilities, improve access to pool and water related activities, and provide aquatic scholarships.
Belmont Plaza Pool
In 1967 construction started on the Belmont Plaza Beach Center, adjacent to Belmont Pier. It was dedicated August 16, 1968 for the U.S. Olympic Trials held that same month. The facility included indoor and outdoor pools to provide one of the world’s finest indoor swimming, diving, and water polo facilities.

Belmont Veterans Pier
In 1908 the citizens of Belmont Heights asked the City of Long Beach to build the neighborhood a pier--a request that was flatly denied. Bruised by the city's refusal, but determined to build a pier (and fed up with high taxes), the neighborhood decided to break away from Long Beach and soon had formed the new City of Belmont Heights. Long Beach Dog Beach is at the water, between Roycroft and Argonne avenues in Belmont Shore, Long Beach (zip 90803), a few blocks east of the Belmont Pier and Olympic pool.

Sharrow Bike Path
Belmont Shore Bicycle Sharrows with a "green lane." The 0.6 mile lane runs along both sides of 2nd Street in Belmont Shore.For bike maps and more info visit: BikeLongBeach

Shoreline Pedestrian & Bike Path
Glide, ride or stride along the water's edge on the main beach from Alamitos Bay to Shoreline Village. This 3.1-mile bike path is a 17-foot-wide concrete trail on the beach, extending from Alamitos Avenue on the west to 54th Place on the east.
