BSBA Board Elections

 
 

The Belmont Shore Business Association is led by a board of thirteen directors who all hold a stake in the Belmont Shore Business Improvement District

Each elected director holds a two year term, and the terms are staggered so that elections can happen yearly without an entire board turnover. The board meets monthly to determine how the BSBA shall operate in accordance with our contract with the City of Long Beach.

Voting for the 2025-2026 election will open on September 15th and the online ballots (below) will be accepted until midnight on September 29th. The results will be announced at our annual meeting on September 30th, 2025. (9:00am at Legend’s)

INSTRUCTIONS:

1.) Review all candidates below and vote for who you would like to represent our district as official board members. You can vote for as many of the nominees as you like.

2.) Click the blue button at the bottom of this page to submit your ballot. Your choices must be accompanied by your contact info, but all selections will be kept anonymous.

3.) Each business is eligible for only one ballot, so please decide who will be submitting this entry for your organization.

The shop is celebrating 25 years in March of 2024! I have lived in Long Beach my whole life and feel so blessed to be a part of this community! I have been on the BSBA Board of Directors for 10+ years now, and I love being a part of this team. I hope to still be a part of the BSBA!

I have been a business owner here in Belmont Shore since 2012. I am currently a Co-owner of Legends here in Belmont Shore as well as several other restaurants in Long Beach. I have had the privilege of serving on the BSBA Board of Directors for the past 12 years. I look forward to continuing the efforts of promoting the healthy prosperity of all of our businesses here in the Shore and working to increase the safety of our community.

Deborah Castro, President and CEO, Creative Productions.  My company has been in Long beach for more than 25 years, and on 2nd Street for 10 years.  I have grown up in Long Beach and live in Belmont Shore.   

My business is an award-winning advertising and marketing agency with more than 250 awards for branding, advertising, media campaigns, and websites for clients including, Toyota, Metrolink (trains), FOX Sports, LADOT. Areas of expertise: Retail, Transportation, Consumer Products, Destination Marketing, Higher Education, Nonprofit.  

I am committed to seeing Long Beach and 2nd Street thrive. I have served on the boards of Leadership Long Beach and the Long Beach Area Chamber of Commerce. Currently vice chair of Rancho Los Alamitos and serve on the Belmont Shore Parking And Business  Improvement Area Advisory Commission, and USC Marshall Master of Business for Veterans, Executive Partners. 

Received Inaugural Woman Entrepreneur Award from the Long Beach Chamber’s Women’s Council. Education: B.S. USC School of Business; Executive Master of Leadership, USC Price School of Public Policy.

I represent The Game Chest. I am the store’s manager. I currently live in Long Beach, and have been coming to Belmont Shore’s 2nd Street consistently for recreation and employment since I moved down here 3 years ago and since the store opened last year. I have a lovely husband, 2 cats, and host role playing game nights at the store with 20 years experience across several different role playing game systems.
